On my OneASEAN internship experience, I was placed with a regional non-profit organisation working on youth development across Southeast Asia. I had the opportunity to collaborate with team members from different ASEAN countries while contributing to real projects. Beyond the professional exposure, I particularly enjoyed the informal learning moments — shared meals, discussions, and reflections with fellow interns from diverse backgrounds. It was eye-opening to see how similar challenges are approached differently across the region. Through this experience, I also learnt how valuable regional networks can be for young people. I am certain that without OneASEAN, I would not have explored opportunities beyond my home country. This internship experience has strengthened my confidence and shaped how I now see my future career in the ASEAN region.

Through OneASEAN, I discovered scholarship opportunities within Southeast Asia that I was previously unaware of. My study experience allowed me to immerse myself in a different academic environment while learning alongside students from multiple ASEAN countries. Beyond lectures and assignments, I enjoyed discussions outside the classroom and exchanging perspectives on social and regional issues. This experience helped me grow academically and personally. I also learnt how studying within ASEAN can be just as enriching as studying further abroad. Without OneASEAN, I may not have considered this pathway. The experience has broadened my outlook and encouraged me to remain engaged in regional initiatives.

My OneASEAN internship experience allowed me to gain practical work exposure while exploring another ASEAN country. I worked with a small team in a fast-paced environment and learnt how regional organisations operate. Outside of work, I enjoyed connecting with fellow interns and exchanging ideas about career aspirations and future opportunities. The experience helped me improve my communication skills and adapt to working in a multicultural setting. I would not have pursued a regional internship without discovering OneASEAN. This experience has encouraged me to seek more opportunities beyond my home country and build a career with a regional outlook.
